- Federal Work Study (FWS) eligibility is based on established financial need. Jobs are located on campus and work schedules can be planned around your class schedule. (Students are not allowed to work during class time. Students provide a copy of their class schedule to the supervisor to arrange scheduled working hours.)
- FWS money is not available at registration to pay fees. FWS awards are earned during the semester. Students are paid bi-weekly for actual hours worked.
- Students are paid minimum wage and can work no more than 20 hours per pay period. (Most students work 10 hours per week.)
- Departments may request FWS Students after Annual Processing at the End of Spring Grade Processing by submitting a Job Description and Email request to Financial Aid.
Federal Work-Study (FWS) provides part-time jobs for undergraduate and graduate students with financial need, allowing them to earn money to help pay education expenses. The program encourages community service work and work related to the recipient's course of study.
